InTouch Medical About Us

About Us

When not together on their boat fishing on the Hauraki Gulf the father-son duo of Russell and Glenn can be found in the new offices of Intouch Medical at 1 Tony Street in Henderson ensuring the day to day business involved with keeping a successful beauty therapy and medically concentrated company running, is completed.

Intouch Medical was started by Russell Smith in 2002, originally dealing only with the Energist products and Miracle Microdermabrasion machine which he proudly designed and built himself. Russell proceeded to grow the business adding new products and brands like the Vision Viewing systems and most recently the addition of Ellex and their range of opthalmic lasers.

In early 2007 the business grew to such a degree that further help was needed, this was found in the form of Glenn who at that time was working with mobile IT equipment. After much talk and meetings round the family dinner table it was agreed that Glenn would come aboard and take over the sales and IT side of Intouch Medical.

Russell says "the aim of Intouch Medical has always been to distribute and support a range of Medical and Cosmetic equipment to the New Zealand market and as a small New Zealand based company we strive to offer personal and efficient service with strong technical support. We are conscious that clinics in New Zealand don’t always receive the support that’s required - in the form of service support and training that should be expected and that sometimes overseas based companies are not always able or willing to supply".

"Russells extensive electrical background has served us well" says Glenn when asked about the service side of the business. "By combining his immense electrical knowledge with in depth supplier based training there is very little out there than can stump him, which is great as it keeps my hands clean".

Being 100% New Zealand owned and run has given Intouch Medical the distinct advantage of being able to respond to their customers enquiries quickly and effectively: "We are able to get support or training staff, in most cases, anywhere within NZ in 24 hours to satisfy any needs or requirements our customers may have" says Russell "And we are able to meet our clients regularly and build up a relationship with them which can be difficult when operating from overseas" adds Glenn
